Ask a dozen globetrotters for their top travel tips and you’ll get a dozen different answers. Travel, like all things in life, is a matter of personal taste and indeed, a state of mind. Nowhere is this more apparent than in what we travel with, from the essentials to the little luxuries.

Your watch manages to be both, especially if it features a GMT or dual-time complication. When you’re jetting across continents the second time display comes to the fore, because whatever time zone you might be in right now, you’ll always know what’s happening at home. In addition to being a useful tool for the jet-lagged traveller, the right watch also makes the perfect statement.

The new CT60 Dual Time from Tiffany & Co. has been created for the stylish traveller with a penchant for old-world charm. Unlike many watches of this variety, this one doesn’t look like it has been designed by a military procurement board. Instead, the inspiration was a watch from 1945 gifted to Franklin D. Roosevelt, which is evident in the CT60’s restrained design and stylised Arabic numerals.

The brand has done well in adding information, while keeping it uncluttered. The slender blue hand points to a 24-hour scale on the outer section of the dial, with numbers in red and blue to indicate day and night. What’s more, the two pushers mean you can quickly adjust local time without needing to take the watch off your wrist. It’s really the perfect way to travel in style. RRP $22,900
