COL D’ORCIA BRUNELLO DI MONTALCINO 2011

The Australian - Wish Magazine - - DRINKING - COL D’ORCIA ROSSO DI MONTALCINO 2013 COL D’ORCIA GINEPRONE CHIANTI 2013

A classic Brunello style that is savoury and reserved with baked earth, spicy dark cherry fruits supported by cedary oak-aged complexity. Powerful, full-bodied with significant structural tannins it grows in complexity on the palate leading to a broad and muscular finish. Rosso is the more approachable style of wines from Montalcino, made for early drinking. This is a tasty example with complex terracotta, tobacco and dark cherry-scented fruits in a mid-weight package finishing with slightly rustic tannins. A typically elegant Chianti style showing herbal, juicy red cherry fruits with a touch of cedary, earthy complexity. The palate is bright and fresh with attractive sinewy tannins finishing with subtlety and good length.
