FRESH AIR AT TRANSIT HUB

The Australian - Wish Magazine - - IN STATE -

Passengers travelling from Perth to London will be able to relax in the new International Transit hub at Perth Airport being constructed by Qantas. Located within the existing T3/T4 area, the new international precinct will feature a large outdoor deck with alfresco seating, a streamlined immigration area, cafes and duty-free shops. “Combining all of our operations under one roof means customers can transfer from domestic to international services without changing terminals,” says Joyce. “The new design allows for an outdoor space and natural sunlight, which is something we know our customers will value ahead of a long-haul flight.” There will also be an International Transit Lounge for all Qantas Club passengers travelling between Melbourne and London on the QF9 and 10. The lounge, due to be finished in March, is a collaboration between architectural firm SUMU Design and industrial designer David Caon. It will include a dozen shower suites and a Neil Perry-designed Australian BBQ-style menu available on an outdoor patio.
