Remove leaves from basil stalks. Reserve small leaves to garnish dish. Finely chop large leaves. Heat oil in a medium saucepan over medium−high heat; cook garlic and basil stems, stirring, for 1 minute or until fragrant. Add tomatoes and the water; bring to the boil. Reduce heat, simmer for 15 minutes or until sauce thickens. Discard basil stems. Stir in the chopped basil.
