PCOS breakthrough

A link between an excess of androgens (steroid hormones) in the brain and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), has been discovered by University of NSW researchers. It could lead to treatments targeting the cause of PCOS, not just the symptoms. These include hair growth on the face and chest, hormonal and ovulation problems and ovarian cysts.
