Lisa’s tips for creating a stylish weekender

The Australian Women's Weekly - - Home Design -

Bring natural elements indoors, such as logs, shells, stones and plants, so you feel part of the environment.

If you see something and you love it, it may seem impractical at the time but you can utilise it – like using an outdoor planter pot indoors.

Don’t be afraid to go big. Grouping things that have texture together may help at first.

Celebrate things in an unexpected way – for example, using wooden pallets as furniture or a wire basket as a bedside table.

Be brave with the things you are drawn to; keep walls neutral and then bring colour in with art and objects.

Keep going! Sometimes you bring something into a space and then you move it – don’t always go for the obvious space first.
