Delicate bone china, exquisite gourmet morsels on tiered cake stands and a welcoming glass of fine champagne – that was the scene which greeted lucky readers as The Australian Women’s Weekly

High Teas returned for another series of grand events held across the country.

More than just a gorgeous excuse to catch up with the girls, our event partner, the award-winning cruise company APT, introduced guests in the six host cities to the delights of travelling in style on an unforgettable European river cruise. Then, in a sea of colourful flowers, delicious pastries and mouthwatering cakes, our guests were treated to their own private fashion show, in which all the latest looks for the European summer were paraded for their pleasure.

Next – much like the best river cruise shore excursions – it was time for a little shopping! With a variety of boutique stalls filled with exotic product samples to choose from, guests were invited to take their pick, before settling in to have their nails done and luxuriate in relaxing hand massages and other pampering options, perfect for a day out with the girls.

While a group of even luckier ladies won the chance of an indulgent escape of their own – going into a special draw to win four tickets aboard an APT European river cruise – every guest of The Australian Women’s

Weekly High Tea went home with fond memories of an enchanting afternoon of food, fashion, fun and new friendships.
