The Cleansers
Post-winter skin has been shown to have poor barrier function and protection, meaning it’s more susceptible to dehydration when washed with astringent cleansers. “Avoid bar soaps,” advises Professor Rodney Sinclair, a fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists, who adds that ideal shower temperature should be warm – not hot – in order to prevent dryness. When choosing a body cleanser, opt for gentle formulations containing hydration focused ingredients.
