Ibrahim brothers back home

Two brothers of Syd­ney night­club iden­tity John Ibrahim have re­port­edly ar­rived in Aus­tralia af­ter be­ing ex­tra­dited from Dubai over their al­leged roles in an in­ter­na­tional drugsmug­gling con­spir­acy.

Michael and Fadi Ibrahim ar­rived in Syd­ney yes­ter­day.

They were ar­rested in Dubai early last month as Aus­tralian Fed­eral Po­lice and NSW of­fi­cers con­ducted a se­ries of raids across Syd­ney. The brothers are ex­pected to face Syd­ney’s Cen­tral Lo­cal Court today.

Po­lice al­lege they were part of a syn­di­cate that had plans to im­port two tonnes of il­licit drugs into Aus­tralia. The haul, which in­cluded 1.8 tonnes of MDMA and was es­ti­mated to be worth $810 mil­lion, was seized by au­thor­i­ties in The Nether­lands in July.
