Population crisis

The Australian - - COMMENTARY -

The recent plea from scientists for global action on population growth and emissions, is a plea that disappears from media attention far too quickly.

The extent of environmental damage from emissions may still be debatable, but the disaster awaiting us from overpopulation is not. There is no country in the world that should not be planning for population reduction. Our institutions are manned by people with the collective vision of a dung beetle, and this must change. William Mapleston, Ashgrove, Qld
