The Australian - - COMMENTARY -

It is fascinating to watch the leftwing media who supported Malcolm Turnbull body and soul, now turning into attack dogs on anything concerning the Liberal Party. It seems that in some sections of the media, Turnbull could do no wrong and his successors will be able to do no right.

Paul Tooker, Bald Knob, Qld

Scott Morrison and his disciples seem to be unable or unwilling to explain why Malcolm Turnbull is now out of a job, The answer is obvious: Turnbull was foisted on us courtesy of a backroom coup and he was always too big for his boots.

John Dorman, Toowoomba, Qld

According to a piano-playing friend of mine, we now need to have an equal number of black notes as white notes, and minor chords want equality with so-called “oppressive” major chords. Minor chords say they are sick of being sad.

If we are going to introduce quotas for female politicians, perhaps it is also time for the ABC to introduce quotas for its commentators. Fifty per cent to be left-leaning (instead of 100 per cent) and 50 per cent to be right-leaning. Only then will the ABC come close to its charter.

Chas Barter, Lower Mitcham, SA

When debate turns to gender equity, I recall the adage, “women who want to be equal to men have no ambition”.
