How PANPA win­ners shared the joy

The PANPA News­pa­per of the Year Awards recog­nise not only in­di­vid­ual ex­cel­lence but team achieve­ment. When the tro­phies ar­rive back at the of­fice it is right­fully cause for celebration. We asked our win­ners to or­gan­ise a photo with staff mem­bers – or them­selves – with their tro­phies, with the in­vi­ta­tion to be cre­ative. Here are the re­sults.

The Illawarra Mer­cury’s Sylvia Liber ca­su­ally takes her 2013 News Pho­to­graph of the Year – Ru­ral/Re­gional/Sub­ur­ban with her for a surf. Ms Bax­ter won her award for a cap­tur­ing a poignant shot of a lone surfer brav­ing the el­e­ments as a storm ap­proaches [inset].

Af­ter her 2013 Life­style Pho­to­graph of the Year win, The Queens­land Times’ Claudia Bax­ter trekked back to Boonah in south­east­ern Queens­land and found her sub­ject, Mick McGar­rity, at the Aus­tralian Ho­tel. The pair had a beer to cel­e­brate the win.

Fair­fax Tas­ma­nia mar­ket­ing man­ager Karen Stal­lard and dig­i­tal jour­nal­ist Alex Fair proudly dis­play The Ex­am­iner’s award for Mar­ket­ing – Events, 25,000-90,000 cir­cu­la­tion.

The Ro­torua Daily Post shows off its bucket of tro­phies for the Up to 10,000 cir­cu­la­tion Daily News­pa­per of the Year Award, Stephen Parker’s Por­trait of the Year Award and Ja­nine Davy’s Ad­ver­tis­ing Man­ager/ Di­rec­tor Ad Awards tro­phy.

The Bor­der Mail team in Al­bury-Wodonga cel­e­brates the lat­est ad­di­tion to the tro­phy cab­i­net af­ter a stellar year from the news­room.
