Embrace the campers
WE take advantage of free camps in between our destinations where we spend two to five weeks.
What people do not take into account is money spent in the town.
Usually an overnighter as we don’t want to unhitch.
Think about money these so called bludgers bring to the area; $2000 spent on petrol; groceries, about $200 a week; caravan parks $280 a week; tourist activities and eating out $200 a week.
And another point – there is often no room in these parks.
If the hundreds of free campers were in parks they would turn away.
Embrace them and the many benefits for locals. Robyne Scott, Timboon
