MP hails job skills project
THE State Government’s Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative has helped 580 people in the Far North Queensland region get back into the workforce.
Member for Barron River Craig Crawford said the government had invested about $10 million under Skilling Queenslanders for Work in FNQ for a total 62 projects that had helped people into the workforce and into training.
As at the end of August, figures showed 980 people had completed a Skilling Queenslanders for Work project, 580 people had secured a job and 300 had gone on to further training or returned to school. TOM VOLLING
