End in sight for JCU dispute

The Cairns Post - - NEWS -

AN end to a long-running industrial dispute about pay and work conditions at James Cook University is finally in sight.

The university and tertiary education union representatives yesterday said they would support putting the new enterprise agreement, that covers all JCU staff, to a vote of staff.

The proposed agreement would provide certainty for staff on terms and conditions over the life of this agreement through until June 30, 2021.

Details of the new agreement, which proposes an administrative pay increase backdated to September 30, will be provided to staff this week.
