Learn all about vital biosecurity
FAR Northern aquatic producers will have the chance to receive essential biosecurity training as part of a series of workshops being held across the country.
The Northern Australia Aquatic Biosecurity Awareness workshop in Cairns on April 26 will focus on prevention, early detection of disease, control measures to prevent spread and eradication.
The workshops are facilitated by Future Fisheries Veterinary Service (FFVS) director Dr Matt Landos, who says the training offers aquatic producers practical tools to protect their livelihoods from pests and diseases.
“It’s critical we maintain strong biosecurity practices to keep our industries safe and sustainable for future generations,” Dr Landos said.
The workshops have been developed as a collaborative effort between Animal Health Australia, Department of Agriculture and Water Resources and FFVS.
