Wet weather in store for city this week
ANOTHER wet week is forecast for Toowoomba, with showers and storms expected to cover the region.
The Bureau of Meteorology forecast rain into the weekend for the second week in a row.
Forecaster Janine Yuasa said the weather would last at least into the weekend, when it could potentially drop off.
She said the showers and storms would be “hit and miss” during the day, with the weather bringing cloud cover over Toowoomba.
The bureau is forecasting a 70 per cent chance of rain today, with the potential of three to 10mm of rain and a thunderstorm this morning or in the afternoon.
Showers will continue tomorrow with a 60% chance of rain and Thursday will see an 80% chance of up to 10mm of rain as well as the possibility of a thunderstorm.
“A high over the Tasman Sea will move slowly eastwards over the next few days while weakening and will continue to direct moist air into much of Queensland,” the bureau said.
“Another upper trough will enter the far south west of the state late on Tuesday (today) and then strengthen while moving north and east across the state on Wednesday and Thursday.”
WET OUTLOOK: Showers and storms are set to cover Toowoomba to at least the end of the week, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
