Crave Cupcakes experiments with flavours

- Meghan Harris meghan.harris@thechronicle.com.au

NEOPOLITAN, maple bacon and Golden Gaytime are just some of the delicious flavours coming out of the Crave Cupcakes kitchen.

Mark Norfolk and his wife Jill Norfolk took over the business one year ago and have since been coming up with amazing new creations.

Mr Norfolk said while they kept flavours from the past owner, creating new ones was part of growing the business.

He takes photos of his colourful cupcakes and posts them on his Facebook page where they get attention from people all around the globe.

“We have lots of comments from people in Toowoomba and all parts of the world,” he said.

“We have the standard flavours but we have also developed our own.

“We look around and do a bit of research to develop our own style.”

The store offers five staple cupcakes a day - red velvet, vanilla bean, salted caramello, chocolate and Golden Gaytime and mixes it up with a few other flavours.

Mr Norfolk said he enjoyed experimenting to make new flavours.

“We offer vegan as well as dairy-free and gluten-free cupcakes,” he said.

“We just changed our Golden Gaytime cupcakes so it is closer to the actual ice-cream. It has filling in it now.” Crave Cupcakes also takes orders for events such as weddings and baby showers. It is open from Monday to Saturday at 86 Russell St. Check out the cupcakes by searching Crave Cupcakes on Facebook.
