Dump free in storm’s wake

-

SOMERSET: Residents cleaning up after recent storms can dump green waste at two Somerset Regional Council tips for free until Sunday.

Tipping fees for storm green waste or storm damaged material have been removed at the Esk and Coominya facilities to help residents.

Mayor Graeme Lehmann said council crews and contractors worked quickly to ensure public areas and roads were safe.

“Somerset SES volunteer crews are also assisting property owners where they can, particularly where home owners have suffered building damage and where residents’ driveways are blocked,” he said.

The free dumping period ends at close of business on Sunday, and proof of residency is required.
