ST GEORGE:

Few people embody community spirit quite like the late Bill “Banjo” Bennett, former St George Lion, league and golf club member.

Banjo, who passed away in September, will be remembered at the Banjo Bennett Memorial Golf Day at the St George Golf Club next Saturday, October 21. The event is a fitting tribute to Banjo, who was a Lion of 30 years, holding various positions throughout that time.

“Banjo was the backbone of the Lions Club,” St George Lions Club president Brett Nosse said.
