SUIT-UP in your Santa gear and lace up your running shoes for the most festive fun run of the year.

The Toowoomba Hospital Foundation is calling on the community to get involved in its first Christmas Centre Run, held in partnership with the Rotary Club of Toowoomba South.

While similar to a Santa fun run last year, this will be the inaugural year of the run, a 5km event from The Glennie School to Clifford Gardens Shopping Centre.

Toowoomba Hospital Foundation events and sponsorship officer Jasmine Quarman said as part of registration, participants would receive a Christmas hat and t-shirt.

“So it will be a sea of red on the day, it’s going to look pretty awesome,” she said.

“It’s a run or a walk so it is for all different ages and fitness abilities and it’s just to get the community involved and to help the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation in the lead-up to Christmas.”

Supported by Stonestreets Coaches, Boost Juice Clifford Gardens and Anytime Fitness, it will raise money for the Toowoomba Hospital Children’s Appeal.

Stonestreets director Phillip Stonestreet said he was looking forward to the day and being able to give back to the community.

“The festive part of it is always good but also there is so many people who get so much out of the hospital foundation,” he said.

It will be held on Sunday, December 3. Tickets cost $20 for adults, $10 for children and $50 for a family of two adults and two children. To register and get fund raising go totre-run.
