A SPECIAL-NEEDS pro­gram at a school in Dar­ling Heights that com­plained of 40-de­gree heat in sum­mer due to lack of air-con­di­tion­ing has been promised fund­ing from the LNP. Toowoomba South MP David Janet­zki yes­ter­day pledged $10,000 to fund a new sys­tem at Dar­ling Heights State School, af­ter be­ing alerted to the is­sue in Fe­bru­ary.

The prom­ise was en­cour­ag­ing for P&C pres­i­dent and mother-of-three Cate MacAvoy who said the group’s pre­vi­ous fundrais­ing ef­forts had all gone to in­stalling air-con­di­tion­ing in each block of the school.
