AFTER months of anticipation, Oporto has opened in Toowoomba.

It is the first outlet to operate out of The Intersection at the corner of Alderley and Ruthven Sts.

Oporto served its first customers at 10am yesterday, with more than 100 customers served in the first hour of trade.

It is home to fresh grilled chicken and burgers.

It is also famous for its iconic Bondi Burger and legendary chilli sauce.

Toowoomba franchisee Reddy Goguri said he was thrilled to be able to serve grilled chicken to residents.

“I have been part of the community for four years and have been waiting for this day for 16 months,” he said.

“I used to work at Oporto as a crew member and always hoped to open my own store.

“We really want to introduce spicy food through our chicken and burgers.”

The Toowoomba store is designed with a fresh look and feel to suit the Queensland lifestyle.

It also serves alcohol.
