FIRST im­pres­sions count for ev­ery­thing when it comes to dat­ing, with more than half, 50.2%, of Toowoomba res­i­dents mak­ing up their mind about their po­ten­tial suitor in less than three sec­onds.

From what peo­ple wear, to their smile, new re­search from mo­bile classifieds mar­ket­place Carousell shows Toowoomba lo­cals know ex­actly what they’re look­ing for when dat­ing on­line.

The re­search high­lights the top rea­son one quar­ter of Toowoomba lo­cals, 24.2%, swipe right on Tin­der is be­cause of a per­son’s cloth­ing choice.

Other as­pects of your phys­i­cal ap­pear­ance, such as look­ing friendly and hav­ing an ap­proach­able smile, are also high pri­or­i­ties.

Al­most two thirds of Toowoomba lo­cals, 61.85%, state these features make all the dif­fer­ence when chat­ting

to po­ten­tial love in­ter­ests.

Nail­ing the ba­sics is also im­por­tant to keep­ing your date’s ini­tial in­ter­est. Close to one third (32.5%) of Toowoomba lo­cals have bailed on a first date af­ter see­ing their date’s clothes, prov­ing dress sense is as good as your ban­ter.
