ROMA police are investigating after a safety fence which borders the Carnarvon Highway was damaged twice in as many nights.
A group of four juveniles on pushbikes is believed to have damaged several fence panels on Friday and Saturday nights. Roma Senior Constable Mick Hewitt said eight panels of the fence along Apex Park, which borders the Carnarvon Highway, were damaged overnight Friday. Five panels were damaged overnight Saturday after it had initially been fixed that morning. “There’s not a lot of crime out in Roma so for this to happen two nights in a row is just very cheeky,” Snr Const. Hewitt said. The park is located on the northern end of town. Investigations are continuing, and anyone with information is urged to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
