U3A meeting

Mission luncheon

The Cobram Uniting Church (Mission Group) will hold its Annual Mission Luncheon on Tuesday, August 2 at Irvin Hall, Hay Ave, Cobram. The hall will be heated and the meal will be casseroles and dessert. Guest speakers will be Margaret and Ross Rapsey from Tallangatt­a, who will talk about the work they do with the Kon Tum children of south Vietnam. Cost is $15 per person. Car boot sale

Cobram Uniting Church will hold a Car Boot/Garage Sale in the church grounds on Hay Ave on Saturday, October 29 from 8 am. For inquiries or bookings, phone Win and Archie McQueen on 5871 1013.

Cemetery walk

The Cobram Cemetery Trust is holding a Cemetery Walk in October and the theme is Murray Goulburn. The trust would like to include all those that were: instigator­s of the factory, milk suppliers/farmers, and employees of Murray Goulburn CoOperativ­e in Cobram. The trust would like to create a roll of honour in the Cemetery Walk Booklet for those who have been interred at the Cobram Public Cemetery. Band’s anniversar­y

Cobram and District Pipe Band is celebratin­g its 60th year in 2016. The band wants to make contact with former members to invite them to participat­e in the celebratio­ns, which are planned for September. RSL meeting

Cobram Barooga RSL provides for the welfare of veterans and their families, supports Legacy and also supports the community in many ways. Those eligible to join the RSL are members of the families of living and deceased veterans, including National Service personnel, CMF and present and past members of emergency services. Cobram Barooga RSL meets on the second Monday of each month at Barooga Sports Club at 7.30 pm. Membership inquiries to Michael Brockhoff on 0439 460 435.

Grow group

Depressed? Anxious? Isolated? Suffering grief or loss? Know someone who is? A weekly Grow group is now meeting in Cobram offering peer support and using a proven program for mental wellbeing. At 7 pm every Thursday evening at Moira Education Centre, O’Dwyer Ave, Cobram. Just turn up, or if you prefer to make contact first, call Lindy on 0448 052 769. Social dancing

Cha cha, rumba, modern dance and rock ’n’ roll every Tuesday night, except the third Tuesday of the month, at Cobram’s Uniting Church Hall. Starting at 7 pm for beginners’ lessons. All welcome.

Cobram CWA meets on the first Thursday of the month at the Senior Citizens clubrooms. Come and join like-minded women at 12.30 pm for a 1 pm start. New and old members welcome. For informatio­n, phone Anna Creighton on 5872 1402.

Get more out of life

The free Life program helps prevent diabetes, heart disease and stroke. Groups will run during the day and in the evening. Phone Kelly to see if you are eligible at the Cobram Community Health Centre on 5871 0900.

Create and chat

On Friday mornings from 10 am to 11.30 am at Cobram Community House, a Create and Chat program will run. Bring your own craft, drawing or colouring equipment and enjoy a morning tea for a gold coin donation. For details, phone 5872 2224.

Cyber for seniors

Come and talk tech, explore apps and expand your skills in a social, non-threatenin­g environmen­t on Fridays from 1 pm to 3 pm at Cobram Community House. Cost is a cold coin donation to help provide afternoon tea. For details, phone 5872 2224.

Spinners and weavers

Cobram and District Spinners and Weavers meets every Tuesday at Yarroweyah Hall from 10 am to 3 pm. Knitters and crocheters are welcome. BYO lunch.
