Travel agents rewarded for hard work
A local travel agency has tasted top-level success after recently taking out a number of national travel awards.
helloworld Cobram, owned and operated by Rosa and Greg Luff, won acclaim for their expertise and sales.
The agency’s Sue Hoban received the Qantas Holidays Global Achievement Award for 2016, an Australia-wide award which saw her travel to Hawaii for five days and attend a gala dinner on October 15.
Rosa Luff also received the Qantas Cruise Global Achiever Award for 2016, and she’ll be heading off on a five-night cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas on January 23 in recognition of her achievements.
Mrs Luff said they were competing against agencies from across Australia for the recognition.
‘‘We’re really proud as a small business to be recognised and rewarded accordingly,’’ she said.
The team also recently received recognition from the helloworld company, based on their sales achievements.
Competing against about 1000 other agencies from Australia and New Zealand, Mrs Luff received a platinum award and Mrs Hoban a silver award in the Victoria/ Tasmania/South Australia category.
‘‘They take it over a 12-month period and you’re competing against larger offices in Australia and New Zealand, so to be recognised as high achievers in 2016 in amazing,’’ Mrs Luff said.
She said their success was also due in part to the support from the ‘‘wonderful’’ local community.
‘‘We’ve got some wonderful clients and we appreciate the local support,’’ she said.
‘‘We don’t want the community to forget us, especially with online, so we ask the community to give us the opportunity to quote on the holiday of a lifetime.’’
Between them, Mrs Luff and Mrs Hoban have about 62 years of travel experience and have travelled widely across all Australian states, Bali, Thailand, Fiji, Vanuatu, New Zealand, Hawaii, New York, Croatia, Europe, Hong Kong, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Honolulu, as well as cruising to the South Pacific, New York and Singapore.
‘‘We love to travel, we take the opportunity to do so as much as we can,’’ Mrs Luff said.
helloworld Cobram will host a travel expo early next year, with about 20 companies to be in attendance. The expo will run from 10 am to 2.30 pm on Sunday, March 5 at the Cobram Civic Centre.
