Kids test out new library

-

Dozens of eager children tested out the children’s area in the Cobram library at the first Rhyme and Storytime session held in the new building last week.

Cobram Library’s Judy Taylor said as part of the Christmas-themed activities, children made a decorated calendar.

‘‘We read the story I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas and the Nativity story, as well as enjoying some rhymes and songs together,’’ she said.

‘‘It was great to see such a large group of children enjoying the new library.’’

Mrs Taylor said the new library had welcomed a number of visitors to check out the new facility since it opened to the public on November 15.

‘‘We have been very busy with over 100 new members joining in the first week and over 60 in the second week of opening,’’ she said.

‘‘It has been wonderful to see so many people visiting the library and appreciating this new community space.’’

She said the library’s new self-checkout equipment was also up and running and staff were available to help people who wanted to use it.
