Veterans The West course was the venue on Tuesday with 70 starters. A-grade winner was Chris Forster (Captain Camping) (12) 40 points countback from runner-up Lyle Herrick (ABC) (15) 40 points countback. B-grade was won by Lynton Goodwin (20) with 38 points countback from runner-up John Dobbie (27) on 38 points. Nearest the pins: fifth Barry Gook, 13th Kevin Bourke, 16th Freddy Barton. Balls to 33. Golfer of the Year: four points Chris Forster, three points Lyle Herrick, two points Noel Milligan, one point Lynton Goodwin. Card draw winners: John Parkinson and Don Casey.

Women A stableford event on Wednesday was competed by 46 players on the Old course. A-grade winner was Robyn Jackson (22) on 34 points and B-grade winner was Jill Sheedy (35) with 39 points. Nearest the pins: eighth Terry Mentha, 17th Rhonda Rettke. Down the line balls: three balls to 35 points, two balls to 32 points, one ball to 29 points.

Super Vets Wednesday’s winner was John Dobbie with nett 35. Nearest the pin: Peter Mansell. Balls to 38: Max Harrison and Bill Hoog. Giuliana’s Prize: Jim Horne. Next week: Old course, 8.30 am.

Thursday competitio­n A field of 72 men and five women competed in a par event on the West course. Men’s A-grade winner was Freddy Barton (6) with 4-up and B-grade was won by Bob Le Rose (28) 3-up countback. Nearest the pins: fifth Lynton Goodwin, eighth Freddy Barton, 13th Vic Willmoth, 16th Marcelle Papa. Ball run down: four balls to 3-up, three balls to 1-up, two balls to 1-down, one ball to 2-down. The women’s winner was Helen Hall (36) with 1-down. Two balls to square and one ball to 1-down. Nearest the pins: fifth and 16th Jan Curran.

Saturday competitio­n A stableford attracted a field of 58 men and six women on the West course. A-grade winner was Barry Kennedy (12) on 39 points and the B-grade winner was Geoff Cameron (25) with 34 points. Nearest the pins: fifth DL Woods, eighth Bruce Haley, 13th David Gumbleton, 16th Jeff Lancaster. Pro pin: David Gumbleton. Ball run down: four balls to 38 points, three balls to 37 points, two ball to 32 points, one ball to 31 points. The women’s winner was Jan Curran (12) on 31 points.
