Tocumwal

● Division one: Tocumwal played host to Nathalia on Saturday’s hot day of cricket.

The Bloods won the toss and elected to bat.

Matt Burrowes again top-scored for the Bloods, ending his innings on 80 ,while Ranji Oliver made 38 as the innings ended in the 40th over on 166.

Nathalia was in trouble early at 3/9 in the seventh over.

The Nathalia side settled before passing Tocumwal’s target in the 39th over to finish 9/173.

Best bowling for Tocumwal went to Lochie McDonald 3/14 off seven, Rod Meloury 2/33 off eight, with Andy Arthur, Scott Goven and Jesse Barker taking one wicket each.

● Division two: Tocumwal ventured to Strathmert­on this week.

Strathy won the toss and sent Tocumwal into bat.

Dean Cole (63 runs) and Paul Mangion (68 retired) proved they loved the heat, both top scoring for Tocumwal.

The Bloods ended their innings on 4/164 with Perry Cole not out on nine rounding up the top three scorers for the team.

Tocumwal bowled out the home side in 12 overs for 67.

Paul Mangion took an amazing 5/12 off three, Kevin Pink 2/14 off three, and one wicket each to Christina Roberts, Adam Jarrett and Stu Miles.

Both teams were happy with the early finish from the heat.

Strathmert­on

● Division one: Strathmert­on division one was upset by Berrigan on Saturday after a high scoring match.

Strathmert­on batted first and posted a healthy 174 from its 40 overs thanks to Danny Cleary and Scott Daly.

Both batsmen opened the innings and led from the front with Cleary making 51 and Daly posting 44.

The Bulldog bowlers had no reply for Berrigan in the run chase as the Saints passed the score for the loss of just six wickets before finishing the match in the 34th over on 6/183.

No Strathy bowler was able to take more than one wicket.
