Warm up with winter show

The Cobram Courier - - NEWS - By Jenna Bishop

Winter can be drab, but there will be plenty of colour at this Sunday’s Tocumwal Winter Swap Meet and Show ’n’ Shine.

This will be the eighth year the event has been held, with more than 1000 people through the gates in each previous year.

Presented by Mild 2 Wild Rod and Custom, the event will feature more than 120 different show ’n’ shine vehicles, including cars, trucks and motorcycles.

One of the organisers, Eric Finch, said there would be nine different category prizes, including five peoples’ choice prizes, three for bikes and one for trucks.

To warm people up, Mr Finch said the Rotary Club would be cooking bacon and egg rolls, and the event was fully catered.

‘‘There will also be a few bonfires for people to warm up,’’ he said.

‘‘There’s usually not much going on on a cold winter’s day, so we encourage everyone to come down for some entertainment.’’

The swap meet and show ’n’ shine will be held at the Tocumwal football grounds, gates open at 6 am for site holders and 7 am for the general public. Sites are $15, public entry is $5 and car entry is $5, including a driver.

To book a site or for more information, phone Peter on 0438 390 621 or Eric on 0427 352 171.
