Spon­sor­ship con­tin­ues

The long-time part­ner­ship be­tween Spor­ties Ba­rooga and the Mur­ray Val­ley Cricket As­so­ci­a­tion will con­tinue on into the 2017-18 cricket sea­son.

The $5000 spon­sor­ship from the Spor­ties will as­sist the MVCA with sev­eral pro­grams in the up­com­ing sum­mer sea­son.

MVCA ad­min­is­tra­tor An­thony Holmes out­lined some of the ar­eas where the spon­sor­ship will be used.

‘‘These spon­sor­ship funds will go to­wards en­cour­ag­ing girls to par­tic­i­pate in cricket as well as help­ing our ju­nior rep­re­sen­ta­tive and Bendigo Coun­try Week teams and the costs as­so­ci­ated with their rep­re­sen­ta­tion,’’ Holmes said.

‘‘We thank the Spor­ties for their con­tin­ued sup­port of our as­so­ci­a­tion.’’

Spor­ties com­mu­nity and sports pro­mo­tions man­ager Mick O’Dwyer said lo­cal sport was high on the agenda of the Spor­ties.

‘‘The part­ner­ship be­tween the MVCA and the Spor­ties has been long-term and both or­gan­i­sa­tions have ben­e­fited from the union,’’ O’Dwyer said.
