Co­bram signs dam­aged in car ac­ci­dent

A 36-year-old Nu­murkah man will be sum­monsed to ap­pear in court in re­la­tion to drink driv­ing af­ter he drove through an in­ter­sec­tion and crashed into a road sign on the Mur­ray Val­ley Hwy on Satur­day morn­ing.

Wit­nesses said the man was driv­ing west on Punt Rd and failed to stop at the in­ter­sec­tion with the high­way about 1.45 am.

The man was not in­jured in the col­li­sion.

The man did not un­dergo a breath test. He re­fused to ac­com­pany po­lice for the pur­pose of a breath test.

There is an on­go­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tion into the in­ci­dent and the man may be sum­monsed for re­fus­ing to ac­com­pany po­lice.

● De­tec­tives are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a bur­glary at a ru­ral prop­erty on Cr­era Rd, In­ver­gor­don, which oc­curred overnight on Septem­ber 6.

Thieves broke a lock on a shed and stole a 6 x 4 box trailer, John Deere ride-on mower, Husq­varna chain­saw and blower, Stihl lawn edger, lad­der and vac­uum cleaner.

The stolen items are val­ued at more than $11 000.

● Two boys aged 10 and 11 will re­ceive of­fi­cial cau­tions from Co­bram po­lice in re­la­tion to tres­pass and theft af­ter they gained ac­cess to a room at Co­bram Sec­ondary Col­lege on Sun­day.

Po­lice iden­ti­fied the pair from CCTV footage.

● Se­nior Con­sta­ble Matthew Gra­ham wants to iden­tify a 40-year-old fe­male with long brown hair who stole a ra­dio­con­trolled car from the Co­bram Post Of­fice.

CCTV footage shows the slim fe­male was wear­ing a black jumper, white pants and black run­ners.

She took the $100 car from a dis­play and walked out of the shop with­out pay­ing.

● A ring and watch lost in the vicin­ity of Wool­worths Co­bram are wait­ing to be re­united with their own­ers.

In­for­ma­tion is sought in re­la­tion to the theft of a blue 2003 Mazda sedan from Hume Street overnight on Septem­ber 4.

The car was lo­cated burnt out at the dis­used Yar­ra­wonga abat­toir the fol­low­ing morn­ing.

Thieves stole a 24hp Honda mo­tor, fuel tank and bat­tery val­ued at $3000 from a grain auger in Pi­cola.

The auger was left in a pad­dock on a ru­ral prop­erty in Barmah-Pi­cola Rd be­tween Au­gust 28 and Septem­ber 4.
