Cobram sister act Katie and Renee Anderson were out in force at this year’s Royal Melbourne Dairy Show, with both sisters tasting success throughout Thursday’s event.

Having entered in six events between them, both young women were showing their experience early with Katie securing the All Breeds Elite Dairy Heifer Senior Champion Heifer (dry) with her cow Sun Vale Colt 45 Dancer, impressing judge Matthew Templeton with her knowledge of the heifer.

Not to be outdone by her older sister, Renee led Sun Vale Holstein’s Homelands Tequila Silvermine 2 to the blue ribbon in the 17 to 18 Month Heifer in Calf (dry) event.

Renee also impressed the judges in the National Parade Championship, taking out the Victorian crown.

It’s been a busy event season for the young women who were very pleased following their wins.

Their progression in the dairy industry is set to continue, with Katie jetting off to World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin in the United States as part of her 2016 Dairy Youth Scholarship win.
