The Co­bram and District Cancer Sup­port Group meets on the first Friday of each month at 1.30 pm at Kil­lara House, Bank St, Co­bram. New mem­bers are wel­come and peo­ple can turn up on the day or phone be­fore­hand. The group op­er­ates with the gen­er­ous sup­port and fund­ing from Ritchies IGA. Co­bram CWA

Co­bram CWA meets on the first Thurs­day of the month at the Se­nior Cit­i­zens clu­b­rooms. Come and join like-minded women at at 1 pm for a 1.30 pm start. Please note the change of time for 2017. New and old mem­bers wel­come. For more in­for­ma­tion, phone Anna Creighton on 5872 1402.

The free Life pro­gram helps pre­vent di­a­betes, heart dis­ease and stroke. Groups will run dur­ing the day and in the evening. Phone Kelly at Co­bram Com­mu­nity Health Cen­tre on 5871 0900 to see if you are eli­gi­ble.

His­tor­i­cal so­ci­ety

The Co­bram His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety meets on the first Wed­nes­day of each month at the Old School in Punt Rd. Meet­ings start at 8 pm. The so­ci­ety’s aim is to foster an in­ter­est in the his­tory of Co­bram and district. The so­ci­ety main­tains the Log Cabin and col­lects lo­cal items of in­ter­est to dis­play at the Old School. Ba­rooga so­cial bowls

Want to meet new peo­ple while learn­ing a new sport? Join Ba­rooga Sports Bowls Club’s bowlers’ cof­fee club on Wed­nes­days at 9.45 am. No pre­vi­ous ex­pe­ri­ence needed; flat shoes are re­quired. Bring a friend or just come by your­self. Tu­ition is in a re­laxed game for­mat fol­lowed by cof­fee at var­i­ous lo­ca­tions. Inquiries to Ruth Camp­bell on 0438 426 615 or just turn up.

Toy li­brary

Co­bram and District Toy Li­brary is open ev­ery Friday and Satur­day from 10 am to 11 am dur­ing school terms in the Fam­ily Ser­vices build­ing, 16 Hay Ave, Co­bram. The toy li­brary of­fers af­ford­able ac­cess to a var­ied se­lec­tion of safe, clean and ageap­pro­pri­ate toys, cater­ing for chil­dren from birth to about six years. Yearly mem­ber­ships start at $30 for duty mem­bers and $70 for non-duty mem­bers. Fam­i­lies can bor­row up to six toys a fort­night. Play­group is held on Tues­day morn­ings from 10 am to noon dur­ing Vic­to­rian school terms. For in­for­ma­tion, phone Liz on 0412 605 436.
