The fifth hole near­est-the-pin was won by Lyn­ton Good­win; 13th: Kevin Ansell; 16th: Hol­ly­wood Forster.

Wed­nes­day women Wed­nes­day, Oc­to­ber 4. Stable­ford, 48 play­ers on the Old Course. A-grade win­ner: Terry Men­tha with 38 points, run­ner-up Marg Rhode 36; B-grade: Grace Va­lente 38 points, run­ner-up Marg Mur­phy 37; C-grade: Mary Rodger 42 points, run­ner-up Betty Old­ham 36. Bev Wil­lis won near­est-the-pin on the eighth hole, Terry Men­tha won on the 12th, Deb Ryan the sec­ond shot to the sixth and Gai Mitchel­son on the 13th. Pro balls and balls down the line went to 34 points.

Su­per Vets Norm El­liott led the field of eight with a nett 36. Balls were won by those with 41 nett or bet­ter. Max Har­ri­son won Guil­iana’s prize. Next week back nine Old Course.

Thurs­day Oc­to­ber 5, men’s and ladies’ stable­ford, West Course, 83 men. A-grade win­ner Kevin Dunn com­ing in with 40 points. D L Woods had a great day with 42 points. Near­est-the-pins were won by Noel Mil­li­gan on the fifth, Brian Eddy on the eighth, Chris Bell on the 13th and Barry Gook on the 16th. Four balls went to 39 pts, three balls to 38, two to 36 and one ball to 34 points. Edna Wis­nei­wski won the ladies’ event with 32 points.

Satur­day Oc­to­ber 7, men’s qual­i­fy­ing round for the Wilt­shire Knock­out Tro­phy. Forty-three pairs played four-ball best-ball stable­ford with the win­ners for the day be­ing Lin­sey Smith and Gra­ham Chap­man with 46 points. Run­ners-up with 45 points on a count-back were Ray Toy and Tank Dunn. Near­est-the-pins — fifth: Dave Mathews; eighth: Matt Had­drell; 13th and the pro pin (the money hole) won by Fred Kent; 16th: Wayne Gould. Three balls went to 45 points, two to 43 points and one ball to 41 points. Eight pairs qual­i­fied for the Wilt­shire first round, those with 43 points or bet­ter. Draw is avail­able in the pro shop and on the web­site. Heather As­ton won the ladies’ event for the day with 36 points. Bev Wil­lis and Marg Wal­lace won near­est-the-pins. Two balls went to 33 pts; one ball to 30 pts. Oc­to­ber 8, Med­ley stable­ford won by Mathew Toohey with 38 points on a hand­i­cap of 12. Two balls to 36 pts: Bill Hoog, Paul and Edna Wiz; one ball to 33 pts: Mary Hoog, Paul As­ton, Frank and Ruth Mess­ner.

Sun­day Slomen Spon­sored by CIF. Peter Bar­rie won A-grade with a nett 35. B-grade was won by Colin Clifford with 30 nett. Ge­orge Hock­ing won both the 12th and 17th near­est-the-pins. Ryan McDiarmid showed his strength with the long­est drive. C. Nolan was awarded the daily NAGA. Next week back nine, West 7-8.
