Con­grat­u­la­tions to Kerry Bal­dacchino and Chris­tine Dunne on a fine win in the Mur­ray Bowls Di­vi­sion 60 & Over Pairs Cham­pi­onship last week.

They now progress to the Re­gion Fi­nal to be played in the Goul­burn Val­ley Di­vi­sion on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 23.

An­drew Rushby was the lucky win­ner of the $200 Fri­day mem­bers’ draw jack­pot spon­sored by Co­bram BP.

The next draw will start at $25 and will be held be­tween 5.30 pm and 6.30 pm next Fri­day to se­lect a win­ner who must be in at­ten­dance to claim the prize.

The Cor­po­rate So­cial Bowls com­pe­ti­tion spon­sored by Co­bram Mitre 10 will be­gin on Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 24 and will be played over eight weeks.

Teams to con­sist of four play­ers of which one may be a reg­is­tered bowler who can­not play skip.

Trade day this week was at Nu­murkah Golf where again a full field was in at­ten­dance to bat­tle it out in this pop­u­lar event.

Not all de­tails are avail­able due to a tech­ni­cal hitch how­ever Ge­off Mitchell, Vin Toohey and Gor­don Ben­net were the win­ners with four wins and 66 points and Peter Buller, Frank Dunk­ley and part­ner came run­ners-up, also with four wins but with 64 points.

Best first game went to Frank Amear and team and best third game to Phil Perkins, Ray Wright and John Sul­li­van 12 shots up.

Those are the only de­tails your correspondent has, how­ever, it is known that the jack­pot did not go off so it jack­pots to this week at Nu­murkah Town.

Keith’s Fri­day event had 20 bowlers play­ing for the elu­sive jack­pot worth $66 the past week.

Win­ners were Ken An­der­son and Al­lan Den­son with a +8 score closely fol­lowed by John Can­ning and Ray Wright with +7.

Best first game win­ners with +8 were Rod Davey from West Launce­s­ton and John Bruce.

Best sec­ond game win­ners were Gra­ham Bax­ter and Barry John­son with +2 and five ends from Kevin Kennedy and Ge­off Brent­nall +2 , four ends and Heather Crosth­waite and Jim Es­cott also with +2 and four ends, so close for the best last game.

Jack­pot did not go off but was close so jack­pots to $80 this week.

Mur­ray Bowls has been fi­nal­is­ing some of the events of their calendar and we have been for­tu­nate to have Ba­rooga Sports fea­ture in two of the events.
