Anzac project needs sup­port

Teach­ers have an op­por­tu­nity to sup­port stu­dents em­bark­ing on an over­seas study tour to learn more about Aus­tralians who have served their country.

Vic­to­rian Ed­u­ca­tion Min­is­ter James Mer­lino and Veter­ans Min­is­ter John Eren en­cour­aged teach­ers to ap­ply to lead Vic­to­rian stu­dents who will take part in the Premier’s Spirit of Anzac Prize in 2018.

Year 9 and 10 stu­dents will travel both at home and abroad to visit sites where Aus­tralians have served dur­ing times of war and peace­keep­ing.

Twenty-two stu­dents will visit places of na­tional sig­nif­i­cance over­seas dur­ing the term one school hol­i­days in 2018, while a fur­ther 20 re­gional fi­nal­ists will visit Can­berra and at­tend the Premier’s Anzac Day Luncheon.

Three teach­ers are needed to ac­com­pany stu­dents for the over­seas tour and two are needed for the Can­berra tour.

Teach­ers from govern­ment, Catholic and independent schools are el­i­gi­ble to ap­ply by October 20.
