Lions Log Cabin Mar­ket

The Co­bram Lions Log Cabin Mar­ket will be at Fed­er­a­tion Park in Co­bram this week­end. There will be plenty of stalls to browse in­clud­ing pro­duce, soaps, can­dles, oils, honey and an­tiques. Author to visit li­brary

Give cro­quet a go

If you are look­ing for an ac­tiv­ity that’s easy on the joints and fun to play, come and give cro­quet a go. We are a fun group that don’t take our­selves too se­ri­ously and we love a laugh. Car boot sale

Cup day at Co­bram

The spring rac­ing car­ni­val is fast ap­proach­ing and Co­bram Har­ness Rac­ing’s Mel­bourne Cup Day Car­ni­val Fam­ily Day on Tues­day, Novem­ber 7 is just weeks away. Great prizes have been do­nated for the pop­u­lar Fash­ions on the Field, so fash­ion en­thu­si­asts are en­cour­aged to get their wardrobe ready for the big event. Free chil­dren’s en­ter­tain­ment and free icy-poles for the younger gen­er­a­tion are also on the pro­gram. Mar­quee pack­ages are avail­able for groups look­ing for a fun so­cial day. Get crafty in Kata­matite

Kata­matite Craft Group is look­ing for new mem­bers. The group meets ev­ery Tues­day at 10 am in the room at the back of the Unit­ing Church in Beek St, Kata­matite. Lit­er­acy for Life

Co­bram Com­mu­nity House is tak­ing ex­pres­sions of in­ter­est from peo­ple look­ing to im­prove their read­ing and writ­ing skills in a sup­port­ive and friendly en­vi­ron­ment with small classes. Classes would run for three hours over seven weeks and may be run ei­ther in the evening evening or dur­ing the day, de­pend­ing on de­mand. Phone 5872 2224 to dis­cuss this op­por­tu­nity. Training is de­liv­ered with Vic­to­rian and Com­mon­wealth govern­ment fund­ing.

Cy­ber for se­niors

At Co­bram Com­mu­nity House on Fri­days from 1 pm to 3 pm. De­velop your mo­bile de­vice and lap­top skills at th­ese so­cial and friendly af­ter­noon ses­sions. Par­tic­i­pa­tion is by gold coin donation.

Co­bram so­cial bowls

Co­bram District Health Ladies’ Aux­il­iary meets on the sec­ond Thurs­day of the month (ex­cept for Jan­uary and July) at 2 pm in the hos­pi­tal’s board room. Quilt­ing club

The Co­bram Quil­ters meet at Co­bram Com­mu­nity House on the sec­ond Fri­day of ev­ery month from 9.30 am to 4 pm for so­cial sewing. All wel­come to join in for the whole day or part of it. Any­one new to patch­work can ask for help, and cur­rent mem­bers will be glad to share their ex­pe­ri­ence. The club also meets on the fourth Sun­day of ev­ery month at Yar­roweyah Hall.

Women’s so­cial ten­nis

Spin­ners and weavers

Put on a red hat

Want to be part of the Red Hat So­ci­ety? The ‘Rav­ing Reds’ group is look­ing for new mem­bers — women aged 50 and over who have a zest for life and wish to take part in a fun-lov­ing friendly group that has no rules and no com­mit­tees. The only ex­cep­tion is the dress code: a red hat (or some­thing friv­o­lous) worn with a pur­ple out­fit. The group meets reg­u­larly at var­i­ous venues.
