B-grade win­ner: Lyn­ton Good­win with 40 points, run­ner-up Vic Will­moth on a count­back 36. Near­est the pins: Dave Mathews 5th, Arnie Man­ual 13th, Chris Forster 16th. Points were earned by: Lyn­ton Good­win four pts, David Wil­son three pts, Jimmy Ryan two pts and one pt to Vic Will­moth. WOMEN Oc­to­ber 18, Old course, 42 play­ers, sta­ble­ford/Mul­li­gan Day. More than $200 was raised for the Na­tional Stroke Foun­da­tion. Carol Pet­titt won A-grade with 41 points, run­ner- up Milly Ruigrok 39 on a count­back. B-grade win­ner was Jill Toohey with 40 pts on a count­back to Steph Hodges also with 40. Near­est the pins: Marg Ma­jernik 8th, He­len Ad­kins 17th, clos­est sec­ond shot There­sia Beard 6th. Down-the-line balls and pro balls went to 37 pts on a count­back.

SU­PER VETS Oc­to­ber 18, West course. Ge­orge Hock­ing won this nine-hole event on a count­back to Max Har­ri­son. Balls to 38: Peter Buller, John Dob­bie, Max Har­ri­son, Peter Mansell, Gra­ham Landy and Noel Dunn. Gi­u­liana’s prize went to Bill Hoog. Bruce McKen­zie scored the win­ning shot near­est the pin. Next week: back nine, Old course, 8.30 am. THURS­DAY COM­PE­TI­TION Oc­to­ber 19, West course, sta­ble­ford, 78 men. Speedy Milovitch won A-grade with 38 pts. B-grade went to Fred Kent 39 points. Near­est the pins: 5th, Ben Kerr; 8th, Vic Will­moth; 13th, Sam Dyson; 16th, Slick Bo­valina. Four balls to 37 points, three to 36, two to 34 and one to 32 points. Women’s win­ner: Muffy Forsyth with 39 points. MGDA MASTERS PENNANT Oc­to­ber 20, Old course. Co­bram Ba­rooga d Yar­ra­wonga 2-up with one to go. Alan Lown­des and Barry Kennedy com­bined well to win their match 2/1, Barry Gook and Ge­off Hall won theirs 4/3 and Tony Wouters and Noel Mil­li­gan lost their match 3/2. SATUR­DAY COM­PE­TI­TION Oc­to­ber 21, West course, stroke, Monthly Medal round. Barry Gook and Noel Stephens tied with nett 67, forc­ing a play-off next round for the Oc­to­ber Medal. A-grade was won by Barry Gook with his nett 67, and the scratch win­ner was Ross Percy on a hand­i­cap of three hav­ing a score of 79 gross. Noel Stephens won B-grade with a nett 67 as well, and Dave Woods with 90 shots won the scratch event. Near­est the pins: 8th, Steve Naughton; 13th, B. Miller, which was also the money hole; 16th, Ge­off Hall. Balls: four balls to 68, three balls to 71, two balls to 73 and one ball to 76 nett.

WILTSHIRE KNOCKOUT Semi-fi­nal re­sults: Dave Mathews and Ross Lacy won their place in the fi­nal by de­feat­ing Lin­sey Smith and Ian Chanter 3/2. They will now play Joe Hr­dina and Ray Bill who won their match 5/4 against Ash Tea­gle and Johnny Beard. Women’s win­ner was Fran Thatcher with 70 nett. Fran also won near­est the pin on the fifth hole; Max the Axe on the 13th. Balls to 77 nett.

SUN­DAY COM­PE­TI­TION Oc­to­ber 22, Old course, med­ley sta­ble­ford. Joe Hr­dina won the day with 37 points closely fol­lowed by Tay Wal­lace and Paul Wis­nei­wski who both had 36 points and re­ceived three balls each. Two balls to 35 pts went to Vic Will­moth, one ball to 32 points Michael Mitchel­son, Ruth Mess­ner, Doug Miller and Terry Men­tha.

SUN­DAY SLOMEN Oc­to­ber 22, spon­sored by Ad­vanced Dairy. A-grade win­ner with 36 nett Tim Nolan; B-grade win­ner, R. Samp­son with 34 nett. Balls to 38 nett: R. Med­craft, C. Doyle, W. Magee, G.
