Round three saw Tocumwal travel to Cobram. With a couple of players away and a couple of new ones in, it was unsure how the Bloods would go against a traditionally strong Cobram side.
Tocumwal lost the toss, with Cobram electing to bat first.
Opening bowler Jesse Barker again had an early breakthrough, taking a wicket in the second over.
Christina Roberts took out the bowling honours for the day, with 2/14 off five overs. The home side batted out the 40 overs to finish with 9/120.
Tocumwal took to the crease but Cobram struck in the third over, taking the wicket of Michael Roberts for 11.
The Bloods settled down well, ending their innings on 5/188. The welcome inclusion of Matt Burrowes saw him take out the batting honours with 92, while Ranji Oliver made 32.
Great work again this week.
Tocumwal hosted Berrigan at the weekend for their round two game.
The Bloods bowled out the Berrigan team in the 33rd over for 86, only giving the visitors four extras for the match.
Bowling for Tocumwal, Dale Chandler took 2/17 off seven overs; Darren White took 2/5 off two and Adam Jarret finished with 2/15 off five.
The home side passed Berrigan’s total in the 19th over, finishing with 3/102. Keith Stevens top-scored with 32, while Greg Whelan made 17 and Rod Booth finished on 13 not out.
Tocumwal has combined with Finley and Jerilderie to put together a great little team this year.
Tocumwal was a firstround victor against the Boarder Cults (Barooga and CYU combined) in the Twenty20 match on Friday night.
The under 14s side finished its first-round, twoday match against Barooga.
Tocumwal batted in week one and started the season in fine fashion.
Openers Harvey White (42) and Chase Hardwidge (43) both retired, while Hunter Hardwidge finished with 12 not out.
The Bloods finished with 4-145.
This week saw Tocumwal fielding. C. Hardwidge, P. Bennett, A. Bouchier, M. White and J. O’Neil all took a wicket each.
Barooga batted out the 40 overs for 5/81.
