● Co­bram de­tec­tives are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a bur­glary at the Cal­tex ser­vice sta­tion on Sax­ton St about 10.40 pm last Wed­nes­day.

CCTV footage cap­tured two male of­fend­ers ar­riv­ing in a small sil­ver sedan and gain­ing en­try to the store by kick­ing in the front door. Cig­a­rettes, food and drink were stolen.

One of­fender wore long cam­ou­flage pants and an or­ange high-vis vest. The other male wore a bal­a­clava and blue rub­ber kitchen gloves.

Po­lice be­lieve an of­fender with a dog en­tered the se­cured yard and re­moved the guinea pigs from a pur­pose-built cage.

The male guinea pigs are fam­ily pets and greatly missed. One has short grey and white hair and the other has long brown and white hair.

● A poul­try shed and a ship­ping con­tainer be­long­ing to the Lions Club have been bro­ken into at Nathalia Re­cre­ation Re­serve in Park St. Cook­ing items were stolen. A white four-wheel drive dual cab ute with a dis­tinc­tive sound­ing en­gine was seen in the area.

Vic­to­ria Po­lice Fam­ily Vi­o­lence Com­mand has re­leased Un­speak­able — Un­der­stand­ing Sex­ual Crime, a se­ries of pod­casts aimed to ed­u­cate the com­mu­nity about sex­ual crime and en­cour­age and sup­port vic­tims to come for­ward and re­port or seek sup­port.

The pod­casts fea­ture vic­tims bravely speak­ing about their ex­pe­ri­ences.

Vic­to­ria Po­lice en­cour­ages the com­mu­nity to watch the pod­casts, which were fea­tured on The Project on the day of the re­lease.

Co­bram Neigh­bour­hood Watch will be pro­mot­ing Safe Plate Day at the town’s Wool­worths car park in Punt Rd on Satur­day.

NHW volunteers will be avail­able to help fit anti-theft num­ber plate screws to ve­hi­cles for a small do­na­tion.
