Co­bram Lawn Ten­nis Club has started the 2017-18 sea­son in the Goul­burn Mur­ray.

Co­bram Crocs and Co­bram Co­bras will con­test divi­sion three.

This week Co­bras trav­elled to Shep­par­ton to face the Coy­otes. It was a tight con­test with the Co­bras go­ing down nine sets 87 games to five sets 79 games.

Mario Bruni was a three­set win­ner, win­ning his sin­gles 6-4, his dou­bles with Matt Ross-So­den 8-3 and mixed with his wife Helen 8-6.

Jack Cas­sidy is play­ing great ten­nis. He won his sin­gles 6-0 and then lost two tie-breaks in his dou­bles and mixed 8-7.

This week the Co­bras travel to Kialla Park.

In the other match of the day, Co­bram Crocs trav­elled to Kyabram to face the Bombers hop­ing for their first win of the sea­son, but they had to set­tle with a draw, seven sets 78 games apiece.

Luke Bram­ley is play­ing great ten­nis and came away a three-set win­ner. He won his sin­gles 6-4, part­nered with Rod McLean in the dou­bles to win 8-5, then part­nered with Sue Whylie in the mixed for an­other 8-5 vic­tory.

The Crocs were three games up go­ing into the mixed dou­bles match, but un­for­tu­nately could only come away with the draw.

This week the Crocs head to Tatura to take on the Wa­ter Hens. Good luck to both teams.

Thurs­day ten­nis so­cial night is run­ning smoothly with 10 women’s teams and seven men’s teams.

This week’s matches are: Moggettes v Zu­lus, Mog­gu­la­tors v Hos­pi­tal, BTS v Ring Ins, Mak­ing a Rac­quet v 11 be­tween Us, Mums w Teenagers v Espresso Mar­tini, Dam­bros v Mog­ga­tron, Duece Bags v Pool­side, Pales Ales v Bolt Shop. Lagers have the bye.

Satur­day ju­nior ten­nis is in full swing with eight teams com­pet­ing.

This week’s matches are: A-grade — Black v Pink, Yel­low v Green; B-grade — Red v Blue, Pur­ple v White. Yel­low is on can­teen duty.

Fo­cused: Si­enna Bo­valina eyes off a serve.

Power: Kelsey Liss­ing­ton send down a pow­er­ful serve.

On the court: Xavier Spiller in ac­tion at the week­end.
