Two Cobram Cub Scouts were showered in glory when they were awarded a Grey Wolf badge, the highest possible award a Cub Scout can receive.
Benjamin Hall and Tyson Stanyer won the awards after overcoming a series of challenges, including a twohour hike in the bush and an overnight camp.
Benjamin said the challenges had been tough but rewarding.
‘‘I’ve learnt a lot at the Scouts. It’s been really fun,’’ he said.
He added the Grey Wolf badge to his growing collection, which includes camping, cycling, heritage, waterwise, pets, space and first aid badges.
His favourite is the photography badge, which he earned after impressing his Scout leaders with his scenic snapshots around the local area.
Tyson said the badge would be his reminder of all the fun he had over the years at Scouts.
‘‘My favourite is games nights, which is really fun,’’ he said.
‘‘I also like the hike nights where we go around town and sometimes get free ice-cream.’’
The Year 5 students were applauded for their achievements at a school assembly at St Joseph’s.
