Ju­nior ath­letes sprinted and threw their way into the record books at Ba­rooga Lit­tle Ath­let­ics’ re­cent meet­ing.

Cait­lyn Clifford broke her own cen­tre record in the girls un­der-11 100 m sprint with a time of 15.05 sec­onds.

Her record equals the boys un­der-11 100 m record set in 2009.

Not to be out­done, Macken­zie O’Dwyer broke her own cen­tre record of 6.6 m in the girls un­der-10 shot put, with a throw of 7.11 m.

Ba­rooga Lit­tle Ath­let­ics’ Ka­t­rina Kerr said it was a fan­tas­tic event with 168 per­sonal bests achieved.

‘‘This week’s $10 Gen­eral Store voucher went to Oliver Ben­son. Oliver is al­ways en­cour­ag­ing oth­ers to have a lot of fun,’’ she said.

‘‘An im­por­tant re­minder to all par­ents and ath­letes. Ac­cord­ing to Lit­tle Ath­let­ics Vic­to­ria rules, ath­letes must wear shoes for all events.’’

Some $5 Win­gates In­ter­sports en­cour­age­ment vouch­ers went to the ath­letes be­low for great par­tic­i­pa­tion and not giv­ing up.
