The Cobram Historical Society meets on the first Wednesday of each month at the Old School in Punt Rd. Meetings start at 8 pm. The society’s aim is to foster an interest in the history of Cobram and district. The society maintains the Log Cabin and collects local items of interest to display at the Old School. Want to meet new people while learning a new sport? Join Barooga Sports Bowls Club’s bowlers’ coffee club on Wednesdays at 9.45 am. No previous experience needed. Flat shoes are required. The National Library of Australia has advised the Cobram Historical Society that the 1930-1954 editions of the Cobram Courier have been digitised and are now being placed on Trove. To access the Courier newspapers from 1914 to 1954, either Google ‘Trove’ or visit the National Library website at www.nla.gov.au/ and click on ‘Collections’ and then ‘Newspapers’. The society meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 8 pm at the Old School. New members are welcome.

Want to be part of the Red Hat Society? The ‘Raving Reds’ group is looking for new members — women aged 50 and over who have a zest for life and wish to take part in a fun-loving friendly group that has no rules and no committees. The only exception is the dress code: a red hat (or something frivolous) worn with a purple outfit. The group meets regularly at various venues.
