1 The opening round was played in very blustery conditions. Cobram Roar played with the wind in the first half. The forwards were busy with many attacks on goal but they failed to capitalise. The defence stood solid and the strong boot of Hunter Goodin ensured the ball was back in attack as quickly as possible. The team faced the wind in the second half but it kept up the intensity. The Roar’s dominant play was rewarded when Sam Wood found the back of the net from a tidy cross from Sam Davidson. The defence rallied and held firm until the final whistle. It was a great team effort by all players and a well deserved victory. Goals: S. Wood. Best: H. Goodin, S. Wood, E. Lissington.
