BA­ROOGA SPORTS The pre­sen­ta­tion din­ner was held last Fri­day night, when nearly 50 peo­ple at­tended to see the awards pre­sented to the win­ners in both men and women’s sec­tions.

A nice night was had by all and thanks go to the small band of women led by Liz Ewing in pre­par­ing the lovely food.

Len Magee won the ‘‘Hawk’’ award for his ser­vices to the club over the years.

Greg Dunn and his team of Mark Vo­gel and John An­ders won the Peaches N Cream event. It was an ex­cit­ing fi­nal and a fit­ting end to a great three days of bowl­ing.

Keith’s Fri­day had 24 bowlers at­tend and the win­ners of the day were Faye Neal and Ken An­der­son with +15. Run­ners-up were He­len Quinn and Graeme Hickey with +13.

Maree O’Brien and Ruth Burnett won best first game with +9 and Joan Greel­ish and Ge­off Brent­nall won best last game with +11.

The jack­pot did not go off and is worth $155.50 this week.

Women’s choice so­cial day was held on Sun­day and a good day was had by all.

The an­nual gen­eral meet­ing is com­ing up on May 4 and Mur­ray Bowls an­nual gen­eral meet­ing is May 28 at 7.30 pm at Ba­rooga Spor­ties.


Win­ter so­cial bowls started last Satur­day. The event had 13 play­ers, so a mix of pairs and triples were played.

Win­ners were John An­ders and Bianca Quinane from run­ners-up Chris Thomas and Barb Turner.

Bowls start at 12.30 pm with en­tries clos­ing at 11.30 am. Sin­gle en­tries will be taken. En­tries can be put on the no­tice­board or phone the club.

Wed­nes­day morn­ing so­cial bowls will start again on Wed­nes­day, May 2, at 10.30 am. En­tries close at 10 am.

Club pre­sen­ta­tion day will be on Sun­day, May 13, and the an­nual meet­ing will be on Tues­day, May 15.
