BAROOGA SPORTS The presentation dinner was held last Friday night, when nearly 50 people attended to see the awards presented to the winners in both men and women’s sections.
A nice night was had by all and thanks go to the small band of women led by Liz Ewing in preparing the lovely food.
Len Magee won the ‘‘Hawk’’ award for his services to the club over the years.
Greg Dunn and his team of Mark Vogel and John Anders won the Peaches N Cream event. It was an exciting final and a fitting end to a great three days of bowling.
Keith’s Friday had 24 bowlers attend and the winners of the day were Faye Neal and Ken Anderson with +15. Runners-up were Helen Quinn and Graeme Hickey with +13.
Maree O’Brien and Ruth Burnett won best first game with +9 and Joan Greelish and Geoff Brentnall won best last game with +11.
The jackpot did not go off and is worth $155.50 this week.
Women’s choice social day was held on Sunday and a good day was had by all.
The annual general meeting is coming up on May 4 and Murray Bowls annual general meeting is May 28 at 7.30 pm at Barooga Sporties.
Winter social bowls started last Saturday. The event had 13 players, so a mix of pairs and triples were played.
Winners were John Anders and Bianca Quinane from runners-up Chris Thomas and Barb Turner.
Bowls start at 12.30 pm with entries closing at 11.30 am. Single entries will be taken. Entries can be put on the noticeboard or phone the club.
Wednesday morning social bowls will start again on Wednesday, May 2, at 10.30 am. Entries close at 10 am.
Club presentation day will be on Sunday, May 13, and the annual meeting will be on Tuesday, May 15.
