Last Saturday’s games were played in ideal conditions with a good attendance. Winners were T. Pearce, V. Kendell and I. Bray from runners-up C. Thomas, C. Struthers and C. Doherty. Presentation Day will be held on Sunday, May 13 and the annual general meeting is on Tuesday, May 15. The Friday members’ draw has now reached the limit of $200 and will be drawn to reach finality next Friday. Members must be in attendance to collect the voucher sponsored by Cobram BP.
BAROOGA SPORTS Last trade day of the current season was held at Finley RSC where the winners of the day were Archie West, M. Maraldo and D. Polkinhorne with 60 points and 31⁄2 wins. Second also with 31⁄2 wins but with 58 points were Brian Hutchins, Geoff Ward and Ian Bolten. Peter Ware, Peter Russell and John Sullivan also had 31⁄2 wins and 57 points so they took the best first game prize money. Best second game winners were Arthur Morgan, John Gillard and Keith Vis. Best third game winners were Pat Quinane, Peter Beasley and Brian Doyle and best fourth game went to Col Farrar, A. Jones and Jeff Seamer. The jackpot remained untouched and will start off next season at $300. Tocumwal Golf Bowls is offering a game each Thursday of two-bowl, two ‘n’ walk pairs during May so if you are interested get your name in to reception at the Golf Club. Keith’s Friday was held this past week in perfect weather and 28 bowlers attended, attempting to win the jackpot which is now worth $170.50 — but it did not go off this week. Winners of the day were Kel Smith (visitor from Howlong) and Lance Jenkins with +21, with runners-up Fred Pinnuck and Joan Greelish with +11. Best first game went to Gerald Rothe and Maree O’Brien with +11 and best second game went to Faye Neal and Helen Quinn with +6. Saturday was a social day with bowlers from Heatherdale joining in and once again in perfect weather everyone had a good time. Results not to hand at time of going to press. The annual general meeting is on May 7; the Murray Bowls annual general meeting will be held on May 28 and women’s appreciation day is set for Saturday, May 12 at noon. Names on board please.
