Plan feedback

The Cobram Courier - - NEWS -

Berrigan Shire is calling on Berrigan and Barooga residents to have their say on their respective town’s masterplan.

The shire has been working on the masterplans for the past 18 months with the consultation of individuals, local business owners, Barooga Advancement Group and Berrigan and District Development Association.

The plans prioritise five projects to improve the general streetscape of each town, including town entry signs, tree planting, providing truck rest stops, upgrades to parks in Berrigan, foreshore and Vermont St developments in Barooga and building more footpaths in Berrigan.

‘‘Comments are open to the shire, not just Berrigan and Barooga residents, but we prefer to have more feedback from those areas,’’ shire general manager Rowan Perkins said.

Residents are asked to write, email or fax the shire with their comments.

The masterplans will be voted on by the council at next month’s meeting and can be viewed on the Berrigan Shire website or at council offices until May 29.
